Playing as Dorothy in Stepping Out when I was a student in Canterbury Christchurch University, Kent had opened my eyes about learning English. Having a part in a drama production could really boost students' confidence especially for the ones who are lack of confidence in speaking the language. The process itself is a wonderful experience for both teacher and students.

1. Write own scripts. I will insert a few samples in my next entry
2. A script is flexible, feel free to change and adapt.
3. Choose interesting settings e.g time, place
4. Design the backdrop of the setting, make sure it is easily managed
5. You can create a 3-D backdrop which looks more realistic
6. Avoid using curtains to manage the backdrop
7. Music is necessary but not too excessive
8. Voice projection is mandatory. Teach your actors to project their voice.
9. The backstage crew are equally important as the actors. Treat both equally.
10. Be true, don't overact!
It's a long process but believe me, it's worth it every time you do it!
